Before Larry became a regular, John struck up a friendship with Norman Fell.
Because at the time John and Norman were the only two males on the show , they became friends.
They both were know to joke with each other often on the set..

John was such a Beatles and John Lennon fan that upon his request he asked that the character Jack could have a Beatles picture/poster in his room.
Of course you all know he did.

In the episode where Jack is invited by his rich girlfriend to a gambling night.. little does he know its for charity..
While Jack is gambling, John places a bet on the numbers 9 and 17 , and says that's his birthday.
As you know John's birthday was that date.

John sang as Austin Tripper " I got Spurs that Jingle Jangle.. As you know his Father was Tex Ritter, old footage shows Tex singing that very Song.

When Jack's dad visits, He reluctantly puts on a show for Terri and Janet, Ironically John and his dad did do routines simular to the one in the episode
In the first episode, You can clearly see at the top of the screen in the kitchen the dolly grip tip of the microphone when John enters the room.

In the episode- Jack poses as a Docter to impress his grandfather, Jack first calls Janet Mrs. Foster , during the fake examination John calls Janet Mrs. Fordwick, she corrects him and says Foster. As you all know John played Rev. Fordwick in the Waltons
